A HAMPSHIRE pensioner died of head injuries following a fall, an inquest heard.
Jane Webb, 86, was rushed to hospital after her daughter found her lying unresponsive at her home in Watermans Lane, Dibden Purlieu.
Winchester Coroner’s Court heard how the retired nurse suffered an unwitnessed fall at her home a few das before, but was not aware of any head injuries at the time.
Ms Webb’s daughter Katherine Croucher told the inquest that her mother had been round for dinner on Sunday, September 3 and one of Ms Croucher’s sisters had phoned Ms Webb on the morning of September 4 to check she how she was.
However, the court heard that when Ms Croucher went to visit her mum that afternoon, she was lying unresponsive on the sofa.
Ms Webb was rushed to Southampton General Hospital where a scan revealed the extent of her injuries. She died in hospital in early hours of September 5.
Coroner Grahame Short said he could not be certain when Ms Webb sustained her injuries. He recorded a conclusion of accidental death.
