An investigation has been launched into the death of an elderly passenger after a fatal collision near Romsey.
A Honda and a Toyota crashed on the A3090 on 7.20pm last Friday night, with the front seat passenger of the Toyota being rushed to Southampton General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Three days later, the 87-year-old man from Romsey, passed away.
Officers have launched an investigation into the ‘exact circumstances’ of the crash.
Hampshire Constabulary said: “The driver, an 83-year-old man from Romsey, and the two backseat passengers of the Toyota, a 79-year-old woman and an 87-year-old woman, both from Romsey, suffered minor injuries.
“The driver, a 26-year-old from Marchwood, and the backseat passenger, a 29-year-old man from Totton, of the Honda, suffered serious injuries and were both taken to Southampton General Hospital.
“The front seat passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Marchwood, suffered minor injuries.
“Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.”
