AMONG the cases recently heard at Southampton Magistrates’ Court were:

  • Ricky Carman, 49, of Philip Road, Staines. Found guilty of failing to provide a specimen of breath for examination at Southampton Central police station. Disqualified from driving for one year. Fined £120. Ordered to pay £150 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
  • Sonia McCann, 34, of Ribble Close, Chandler’s Ford. Convicted of driving over the limit while in Somerset. Disqualified from driving for six months. Fined £200 and ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
  • James Chapman, of Sowley Lane, East End. Found guilty of failing to complete approved works and alterations to a building in Minstead. Fined £500. Ordered to pay £500 costs and £50 victim surcharge.
  • Monika Krzesaj, 31, of Northbrook Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. Found guilty of driving while under the influence of alcohol, with 95mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Community order made. Disqualified from driving for 28 months. Ordered to pay £85 victim surcharge and £300 costs.
  • Sukwinder Singh, 36, of Cranbury Avenue, Southampton. Convicted of three counts of assault. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Restraining order made to protect victim. Ordered to pay £300 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
  • Pauline van Buren, 64, of Hamptworth Road, Salisbury. Pleaded guilty to failing to remove a fence after being issued a notice to do so by New Forest National Park Authority. Fined £800. Ordered to pay £500 costs and £80 victim surcharge.
  • David Williams, 29, of Ash Close, Fareham. Admitted failing to comply with a community order made after harassing three people. New community order made.
  • Benjamin Mubelayi, 19, of Nelson Road, Bishopstoke. Admitted breaching a rehabilitation order made by West Hampshire Youth Court. Community order made. Ordered to pay £60 costs.
  • Robert Michael Burns, 64, of Lyon Street, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to possessing a class B controlled drug. Six-month conditional discharge, £20 victim services surcharge.
  • Vijay Kalyan Singh-Swaly, 28, of Winchester Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour. Committed to prison for six weeks, suspended for 12 months, £100 compensation order, £300 costs.
  • Samuel James Wheeler, 19, of Edward Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour. Fined £100 and told to pay £30 victim services surcharge.
  • Kieron Slack-Travers, 21, of Beauchamp Drive, Newport. Pleaded guilty to stealing perfume to the value of £158.50 from Boots in Southampton. Fined £120. Ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
  • Louie Davis, 30, of Cox Row, Chandler’s Ford. Pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol and a basket worth £40 from Tesco. Discharged conditionally for 12 months. Ordered to pay £40 compensation and £20 victim surcharge.
  • Jonathan Walker, 48, of Howard Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to damaging the door of a flat. Discharged conditionally for 18 months. Ordered to pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
  • Jennifer English, 35, of Fernyhurst Avenue, Rownhams. Pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol. Fined £120. Disqualified from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
