A VAN driver has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after crashing into a telegraph pole.
Police officers closed Church Lane, in Colden Common, at around 11.30am following the single-vehicle collision.
Firefighters and paramedics were also called to the scene.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We received a call regarding a single vehicle collision with a telegraph pole on Church Lane, Colden Common. The vehicle was a van. The male driver has been taken to SGH (Southampton General Hospital) in a serious condition."
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service added that electrical engineers were sent to assess any damage.
He added that the incident was cleared around an hour later.
