A MAN has been charged in connection with more than a dozen burglaries that took place in Hampshire towns a villages in one day.

Adam Prendergast, 29, of Bramston Road, Minster on Sea, Kent was charged with 13 counts of burglary in Cheriton, Alresford and Medstead which took place on 15 January, and a further count in Oxfordshire on 11 January.

The Hampshire burglaries, which took place between between 8am and 4pm on Monday, January 15, saw various items of jewellery stolen, as well as a car.

Home were raided in Alresford Road, Cheriton; Tichborne Down, Alresford; Jacklyns Lane, Alresford (two burglaries); Grange Road, Alresford (two burglaries); South Close, Alresford; Wield Road, Medstead; High Street, Medstead; Hussell Lane, Medstead; and Abbey Road, Medstead, where a Ford Fiesta was also stolen.

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary was unable to confirm what the value of the stolen items was.

Prendergast was due to appear Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today.
