TREMORS have reportedly been felt in Hampshire as the country experienced an 'earthquake' this afternoon.
Independent scientific organisation EMSC is reporting that tremors were felt by eyewitnesses within Southampton.
The British Geological Survey (BGS) is investigating reports of a tremor in the south west of England and south Wales.
People across the regions said they felt what they thought was an earthquake this afternoon.
It is reported to have been a magnitude 4.2 earthquake.
James Leonard wrote on Twitter: "Wow was that an earthquake in Swansea my house just shook #earthquake earthquake."
Aimee Mason added: "Definitely felt the earthquake in Southampton."
People have taken to Facebook to say whether they felt the earthquake.
Leanne Sparham wrote she felt the flats shaking in North Baddesley, with Kerry Bacon adding: "I did in Milford-on-Sea. Thought I was having a funny turn."
