LIDL has issued a recall for one of its Easter egg products over fears of "unsafe" labelling.
The supermarket giant has ordered the removal of Favorina Dip chocolate eggs, because the labels don't list allergens in English.
The German discount chain ordered the removal of the eggs with a best before date of July 30 2018. It only affects Lidl Ireland, and does not involve Lidl UK.
The 'dippy' eggs which have a creamy filling, contain milk, gluten, egg, peanut, soya and nuts.
Blaming a "labelling error", Lidl said: "These products contain milk making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
"They may also pose a risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to cereals containing gluten, egg, peanut, soya and nuts.
"Chocolate fans with an intolerance to milk, gluten, egg, peanut, soya and nuts are at at a health.
"Lidl is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers."
