FIREFIGHTERS have closed Lee-on-the-Solent High Street following a blaze.

Five crews raced to the Hampshire town after a fire broke out in a part-commericial, part-residential building around 1.30am today.

More than 40 firefighters from Gosport, Fareham, Botley, Southsea and Portchester attended.

Although no-one was hurt in the incident, residents in the area have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut - over fears of smoke inhalation.

Bosses at Hampshire Fire and Rescue are concerned about the building's structure and are warning that the High Street could be closed for the rest of the morning.
