GRAB your glad rags, breakout those gleaming hipsters, burnished bell bottoms, and glittering jumpsuits and dress up to the nines in your spangliest dancefloor finery as the official Guinness World Records' title holder for the World’s Largest Disco Ball is coming to the city for one day only!

Appearing on the Sunday at Common People on Southampton Common, which takes place over the spring bank holiday on May 26 and 27, this dazzling disco beauty is 10.33m in diameter and as high as a three-storey building.

Covered in 2,500 mirrored tiles that would stretch out for a kilometre laid end to end, it’s filled with 350 cubic metres of air – equivalent to around a thousand beach balls, so getting it around won’t be easy, but never fear - Common People have some expert disco wranglers to ensure the Common is dappled in its shimmering light.

Join in the scintillating fun with the sparkling centrepiece of Common People’s sequin-fuelled fancy dress day on Sunday, the World’s Largest Disco Ball will radiate glimmering good vibes as Boney M., Snap!, Prince’s legendary backing band The New Power Generation and the disco dons themselves, The Jacksons, take you to your dancing destiny at in a hip-swaying, booty-shaking, fancy-dressing, party heaven.

Lily Allen and James will headline the Common stage on Saturday, May 26, along with sets from All Saints, The Sherlocks, Jaguar Skills, The Cuban Brothers, Elvana: Elvis Fronted Nirvana and Plastic Mermaids.

Meanwhile the new Carnival stage will jump to the sounds of DJ Yoda, HAAi, Kiwi, and much more on Saturday with Fred V & Grafix, Holy Goof, Barely Legal and more on Sunday.

Rock action can be found on the Uncommon Stage hosted by The Joiners.

Demob Happy, The Rising, The Collision, Deference, Pioneers and Miss Vincent will blast on Saturday. While Dream Wife, Pale Seas, Ben Goddard, Saints of Sin, Toreador, Josh Savage and Lauran Hibberd perform on Sunday.
