Nuffield Southampton Theatres have announced the upcoming live music line up at NST City, with top acts Band of Skulls and Bill Laurance along with new bands session nights.

Band of Skulls will perform a special one-off concert in the new main house on April 21 with The Space Between Collective – a new Southampton-based professional ensemble formed to collaborate with leading rock and pop acts at NST City.

Band of Skulls, also from Southampton, will perform music from all four of their albums alongside music uniquely associated with the city. Expect everything from stripped-back acoustic intimacy to driving orchestral arrangements.

Grammy award winner and original member of the internationally acclaimed Snarky Puppy, Bill Laurance will headline Southampton’s newest music festival Blueprint on May 11. Pianist and composer, Bill has recorded or performed with artists, including David Crosby, Morcheeba, Salif Keita, Lalah Hathaway, Laura Mvula, Musiq Soul Child, Miss Dynamite and The Metropole Orchestra. The Blueprint festival is a new festival of jazz influenced contemporary music, which will also champion incredible home-grown acts from the region.

Sam Hodges, Director at Nuffield Southampton Theatres said, “This is a very exciting time for Southampton, as we develop our cultural identity and realise our ambition to become more than a theatre – with an exciting, ambitious and diverse music line-up”

Local bands are welcome to apply to perform at the new monthly music night; The Gateway Sessions starting on May 19.
