A GIANT maze will be unveiled at Westquay from today.

As previously reported, the shopping centre is bringing in a 9,000-square foot maze to the city.

It will be on the centre’s Esplanade from today, with shoppers invited to try and work their way through the high hedged labyrinth.

It will run until April 22.

Spanning 9,000-square feet, there will be a choice of routes inside.

It will be fully constructed using real hedges, stands at almost eight-feet tall and will be against the backdrop of the Old City Walls.

Westquay general manager, Andy Collyer, said: “The maze has given Westquay another fantastic opportunity to showcase the Esplanade.

“Having a bespoke design meant we could create something vast, mapping out a route that is as challenging as possible.”

Mr Collyer added: “We are all looking forward to seeing visitors navigate themselves through the maze.”

The maze has been made to fit the precise space at Westquay, with a code for a free ice-cream the reward for finding your way out – as well as the sense of pride.

The maze will be in the same space as the temporary ice rink that was open throughout the festive period last year.

For visitors to unlock their free ice-cream, they must do so through the Westquay Plus app.
