A CAR hit a pedestrian and crashed into a wall following a police chase in Southampton.
Emergency services rushed to Bevois Hill following the incident, which happened at 2.13pm.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called to the scene to treat the pedestrian, who was described as being "seriously injured".
He suffered leg injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by land ambulance.
Pictures from the scene of the crash, near the junction with Forster Road, show a car enveloped in flames.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a driver in a Volvo had failed to stop for police before the crash, and a man has been arrested.
A statement says: "A Volvo was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, a vehicle and a wall.
"The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries.
"It has been reported that the Volvo caught fire before rolling and colliding with a BMW.
"The vehicle had failed to stop for police prior to the collisions."
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service told the Daily Echo that two cars had collided.
One person was being treated by South Central Ambulance Service.
