A POLICE helicopter-led hunt took place in the early hours of this morning after a car smashed into a telegraph pole.
Officers approached the overturned Ford Mondeo, which flipped after it collided with a telegraph pole on Allington Lane, West End, shortly before 1am on Monday.
Two of the occupants left the vehicle and fled the area.

A helicopter from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) rushed to the scene.
However, police say they were unable to find the two passengers.
The driver of the car, a 44-year-old man from West End, was reported for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
He was also reported for driving without insurance, and driving without a license.
Police say no injuries have been reported.
