ANOTHER appeal has been launched after more rogue bikers were captured on film “dangerously and recklessly” driving around the city.

Nuisance riders were caught using motorbikes on the field behind the Coxford Community Centre, Southampton, on Tuesday, April 17.

Officers leading Operation Torque – an initiative to reduce motorcycle nuisance and prosecute dangerous drivers – responded to the sight of four bikes driving recklessly in the area at around 3.30pm.

When Hampshire Constabulary attended, one of the bikers drove at an officer who was on foot and struck him on the leg.

One of the motorcyclists was described as tall, slim, wearing a navy blue waterproof coat, black tracksuit bottoms, a green trials bike helmet and goggles. He was riding an orange off-road motorbike.

PC Simon Peacock, heading up Operation Torque, said: “These motorbikes were being ridden around the Millbrook and Coxford areas at speed, without regard for pedestrians or other road users.

“The manner of driving was dangerous, reckless, and caused significant distress to members of the community. They are putting themselves and others at serious risk of harm and injury. “ This latest incident comes after the Daily Echo revealed Stolen Motorcycles Southampton, a group that shares knowledge regarding thefts and suspious activities of rogue bikers, had been set up to try to rid the city of the rogue bikers.

Numerous appeals have been lodged by police for information about the riders, who have been causing trouble in Lordshill, Lordswood, Millbrook and Redbridge.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101, quoting 44180141301.
