PATRIOTIC pensioners at a Southampton home held a tea party with a royal theme to celebrate the Queen's 92nd birthday.

Residents at Northlands House in Westrow Road, Southampton, donned cardboard crowns and Union Flag hats for the celebration.

The revellers included 104-year-old Hilda Wallis, the home's oldest resident.

A spokesman for the home said: "It was a really nice afternoon with people sipping Pimm's and wearing funny hats, plus dancing and an old-fashioned sing-along."
