A MAN was stabbed in a daylight attack in a Southampton street.

The 25-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries following the incident, which happened in Derby Road at 7.20pm last night.

Police say that members of the public witnessed the attack and tried to step in.

Two men, aged 29 and 42, have been arrested, and officers from the Southampton Central Neighbourhood Policing Team will be patrolling the area today to reassure residents.
