The M27 is largely shut in one direction as it links to the M3 due to a car fire.
Hampshire commuters are currently sat almost at a standstill as only one lane is open between junctions five and four westbound.
Delays are currently an hour-and-a-half.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue said the car fire was near to the sliproad where the motorway links to the M3.
A spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.51pm to a car fire between junctions five and four westbound. All lanes are currently closed.
"Two engines have attended the scene."
