A COUNCIL is investigating its third major fly-tip in as many weeks.

Following 50 tyres that had been dumped in North Baddesley, and a fly-tipping at a Romsey cemetery, Test Valley Borough Council are probing another incident in Rownhams.

Blocking traffic on the road at Toothill, a number of boxes, bags full of waste and apparent construction material was left through the night on Thursday and was discovered yesterday morning.

Sharing the post on social media, the council said the first thing it would do was appeal to the public to try and find whoever was responsible.

The borough council said: “This fly tip appeared overnight and it had been blocking the road at Toothill in Rownhams.

“These photos show only half of the fly tip as we removed it.

“If you witnessed it taking place or have any information, please contact the environmental service on 01264 368000. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

It comes as the council continues to track down the ‘scumbag’ who fly-tipped at Woodley cemetery last month.

Leader of Test Valley Borough Council, Phil North, vowed to bring them to justice, labelling whoever dumped the rubbish, a scumbag on social media.

Earlier in April, 50 tyres were left on the edge of woodland in North Baddesley, just yards away from a housing complex on Fleming Avenue.

Baddesley councillor Alan Dowden called it ‘appalling’.
