POLICE are at the scene of a ram-raid at a supermarket in Southampton.
The raid happened overnight at Sainsbury's on West End Road, Bitterne.
A similar incident also happened at a Co-op in Wodehouse Road overnight.
Pictures from the scene show significant damage to the front of the shop, and a police car guarding the entrance.
A Hampshire Constabulary statement says: "We are investigating a burglary attempt that took place in the early hours of this morning.
"At around 2am, a car drove into the front of Sainsbury’s on West End Road, Bitterne, causing significant damage to the door.
"Nothing has been reported stolen and enquiries are on-going.
"Anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44180169226."
