A HAMPSHIRE pensioner celebrated her 100th birthday by being interviewed in a recording studio.
Joan Titheridge had always wanted to visit the headquarters of Fareport Talking News (FTN), the weekly news and entertainment broadcast for blind and visually impaired people in the Fareham area.
Joan, an avid listener, was introduced to FTN by Helen Wilson, a retired talking news editor, when they met at her local library.
She spent a morning in the Stubbington studio, during which she was interviewed by Helen for the weekly broadcast.
Speaking afterwards she said: "It was so exciting.
"It was my first experience of a recording studio and they made me so welcome. I was very impressed."
Joan's main birthday celebration took place at Lee-on-Solent Golf Club, where friends and family gathered for a party.
