PORTCHESTER Park play area is to be improved - and council bosses are inviting suggestions.

Fareham Borough Council will revamp the park as part of its works programme.

To help decide how the play area could be improved residents are being asked to pick their favourite junior and toddler multi-climbing units.

For the juniors, users can choose between a brightly coloured metal climbing unit or a wooden and metal coloured climbing unit.

For the toddlers, the choices are either a pirate themed or nursery rhyme themed climbing unit.

All other existing equipment will be painted and other smaller improvements will be made to enhance the area.

Executive member for leisure and community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “Portchester Park is the latest play area which we've identified for improvements, as part of our on-going investment to improving play facilities within the borough.

"I would like to encourage residents to get involved and have their say so that we can make them as enjoyable as possible for years to come."

The online consultation ends on June 5.

Works are expected to begin next year.
