YOUNGSTERS were gripped by royal wedding fever and celebrated with bunting, parties, and picnics.

The pupils at Foxhills Infant School spent the week learning about the royal family and ended with a ceremony for their own prince and princess - Megan Power in year one and Harry King in year two.

Over the road their older neighbours at Foxhills Junior School had a very special visit from a man in full military uniform, Prince Harry - aka head teacher Andrew Shore.

He said: "We just wanted to give the children something to celebrate.

"We've linked it in with learning about British values and we thought this was really something worth celebrating.

"It's just something really positive. A lot of the same children really weren't aware of the royal family so we thought we would bring something positive into the school."

Children at St Anthony's Catholic Primary School in Fareham also got the flags out - and sang the national anthem while head boy and head girl cut the cake.

Head teacher Roxy Ashworth said: "The children all had cake and everyone had a wonderful time."
