IT was a meet-and-greet with a difference - and one they would never forget.
In the brilliant spring sunshine, Joey - the incredible lifelike puppet from the smash hit show War Horse, was let out of the stables for a run around Titchfield Abbey near Fareham yesterday.
Year 5 and 6 pupils from Titchfield Primary School had an up close meeting with Joey along with actor Thomas Dennis who plays the central role of Albert Narracott in the show.
During the encounter the children were delighted to pat and play with the famous horse immortalised in Michael Morpurgo's book and make him rear up with some encouragement.
War Horse continues its run at Mayflower Theatre until 9 June 2018. Tickets 02380 711811 or mayflower.org.uk
