A MAN attacked a child by beating them.
John Jewkes, of Kanes Hill, Southampton, struck the youngster as well as assaulting another person.
The 65-year-old,who pleaded guilty to four charges of assault, was sentenced to 14 weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
He was ordered to pay £400 costs and £115 victim surcharge.
