THE legendary Rolling Stones are set to perform an unforgettable show at St Mary’s Football stadium tonight.

It comes on the second leg of their ‘Stones- No Filter Tour’ for Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood.

The band who formed back in 1962 will treat fans to a set list packed full of classics such as Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Tumbling Dice and Brown Sugar but each night they include a couple of unexpected tracks and randomly selected surprises from their arsenal of songs. Expect a spectacular production with state of the art stage design.

Rolling Stones production director Dale “Opie” Skjerseth told the Daily Echo as he visited the football stadium: ”It’s all going to light up like a Christmas tree!”

And Opie, who has worked with the band for over a decade, promised the concert would be “a spectacular event, and not just a show”.

To mark this momentous occasion the Daily Echo has published the official Rolling Stones Southampton poster across pages 24-25 for you to keep.

The Southampton poster is one of a selection created by the Stones to mark each tour date in cities across Europe.

The Southampton art will be available as a lithograph, and on apparel at the St Mary’s show as well as online on The Rolling Stones site.

The creation of all of these artworks are overseen by The Rolling Stones drummer, Charlie Watts. It can be bought here:https://store.digitalstores.co.uk/rollingstones/

Concert tickets are still available to purchase via AXS (https://www.axs.com/uk/events/350417/the-rolling-stones-extra-date-added-tickets) with ticket prices ranging from £59.95 to £249.95. Make sure you only buy tickets through AXS, the official ticket seller, to prevent being denied entry.

Gates open at 5pm to enter the stadium - though if you’re there earlier from 3pm the Food Village will open with a large selection of bars and food offers.

Indie rock band, The Vaccines, will be opening at St Mary’s. See our interview with their Southampton-born frontman Justin Young on page 30.

There will be several road closures and parking restrictions around the stadium and organisers recommend using the official park and ride service. This service has to be pre-booked.

Southampton Central Railway Station is approximately a mile from the stadium - roughly a 20-minute walk.

Shuttle Buses run regularly from Southampton Central Train Station and operate from the South Side (Platform 4.)
