A HAMPSHIRE law firm has won a national conveyancing award.

Lawcomm Solicitors, based at Whiteley, were named “Best Law Firm for Conveyancing” at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards at the Waldorf Hilton in London.

Managing director Bill Dhariwal said: “The first-time buyer market is a continuing growing sector in the housing market with more and more properties being built.

“I would like to thank our conveyancing department, particularly the shared ownership and new build teams led by Lesley Price and Rebecca Freeman respectively, Finally, thank you to all of the people that voted for us including our clients, network contacts and the readers of First Time Buyer Magazine.”

Lawcomm which has 34 employees was founded in 199 by Mr Dhariwal, who also heads the firm’s commercial litigation unit.

Mr Dhariwal was previously a solicitor at Lamport Bassitt Solicitors in Southampton (now Pitmans) before setting up on his own.

The firm was originally located in Southampton but moved to Whiteley in 2007. It also has an office in central London.

Lawcomm offers legal and financial services under one roof and are dual regulated by both the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority.
