A GANG of teenagers smashed a stolen vehicle into a wall after car-jacking it from a man as he sat parked at the side of the road.

The stolen Ford Fiesta was driven through a fence in Grainger Gardens, Sholing, early on Saturday morning (June 9).

The crash happened just hours after the black vehicle was car-jacked by a gang of four teenagers in Thornhill.

One neighbour who didn’t want to be named, said: “It was loud. Everybody was in bed.

"Suddenly we heard a screech coming round the corner.

"Then there was this bang because the car went straight into the wall.”

Police have since launched a car-jacking probe following the incident.

Officers say a 34-year-old was sitting in the car on Burgoyne Road, near Warburton Road, when the group of four attacked around 2.30am on Saturday.

The gang assaulted the man and threatened him before stealing his money, phone and car.

They then crashed the car into a garden wall in Grainger Gardens, Sholing, at 5.30am.

Police say the crash caused significant damage.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after four men stole a man’s car from Thornhill on Saturday 9 June.

Officers were alerted to the incident when the collision was reported.

The offenders have been described as between 18 and 19-years-old.

One was said to be Asian, around 5ft7in in height, of skinny build with dark hair and glasses.

Another was described as white, also 5ft7in, average building and wearing a grey tracksuit.

The third teenager was also described as white, 5ft7in, with dark blond hair, of average build and wearing a tracksuit.

The final teenager was slightly shorter, around 5ft5in, with dark blond hair, of average build and wearing a dark coloured tracksuit.

We are appealing for witnesses to this incident, specifically to those who may have private CCTV or dash cam footage and captured the robbery in Burgoyne Road or the collision in Grainger Gardens.

We are also keen to hear from anyone who recognises the description of this group.
