STOCKBRIDGE’S community enjoy a sunny day at the town’s sixth fete on Saturday.
More than 1,000 gathered at the recreation ground on June 9 where there was a mix of traditional fete stalls, food and drink from sausages and burgers to homemade cakes and beer from the local micro-brewery Test Brewing.
The entertainment line-up included live displays from Ruby Slippers Show School, Dance Fit Zumba and Mullenscote Gun Dog, alongside live music.
Organiser Miriam White said: “Yet again we were able to enjoy a warm, dry day and a lovely community atmosphere.
“There was something for everyone with a mixture of traditional fete stalls and a range of traders tempting people with their wares.
“I am very grateful to the many people from the football club, school and local community who were so generous with their time and donations to make the event such a success and to our sponsors at Virgin Media.”
The event raised nearly £6,000 and also enjoyed a record year for the raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
All the proceeds will be donated to Stockbridge Football Club and Stockbridge Primary and Pre-school Parent Teacher Association.
