A CLUB promoter is due to appear in court accused of killing a Hampshire teenager with one punch during a row outside a Greek nightclub.

Archie Lloyd (pictured), from Micheldever, near Winchester, was celebrating the end of his A-level exams with friends in Malia when he was knocked to the floor on August 6 2015, an inquest previously heard.

Sebastian Trabucatti is facing manslaughter charges at a trial due to begin in Crete today.

A UK coroner recorded a verdict of unlawful killing after an inquest in 2016.

Trabucatti denied being responsible for the death.

Reportedly a male model from East Grinstead, West Sussex, he was charged in 2015 aged 22 and released on bail while the Greek public prosecutor investigated, lawyers representing the Lloyd family said in 2016.

Mr Lloyd died on the penultimate day of his Interrail holiday after the alleged assault outside the Cloud Nine club in the popular party resort.

The "greatly anticipated" trip across Europe with four school friends came just after he turned 18 and finished exams, his family said.

Medics tended to him briefly after the incident before the group went back to their villa in Sissi.

But the next day they woke to find Mr Lloyd unconscious and blood on his pillow, the coroner heard.

The trial is anticipated to last two days.
