EASTLEIGH Unwrapped is back on Saturday filling the streets of the town with stunning theatre, circus, interactive performance and live music.

A free day of performance for families produced by The Point this exciting family event returns to the Town Centre and Leigh Road Recreation Ground for a sixth year of festival fun.

This year’s festival programme has something for everyone across circus, theatre, dance and live music, plus plenty of interactive events and opportunities for families to get involved. Producers at The Point have handpicked an array of must-see artists and companies from around the UK and Europe to perform at the festival.

Highlights of this year’s programme include:

Sur Mesure headline this year’s festival with Fillage; a spectacular fusion of trampoline, acrobatics, juggling and live music. Great fun for the whole family, the critically-acclaimed company travel from Belgium for the day.

Handmade Theatre, one of the country’s leading family theatre company’s, presents brand new show Too Many Cooks. This interactive production features a whole bunch of kooky characters and is jam-packed with tasty tunes.

Highly Sprung presents Urban Astronaut; a roaming performance which follows an astronaut, suspended 20ft in the air, attached to a bespoke ‘flying machine’. Presented by one of the country’s leading physical theatre company’s, this aerial walkabout performance is a visual masterpiece not to be missed.

Juggling duo Patfield and Triguero make their Eastleigh Unwrapped debut with Gibbon; an impressive, witty display of dynamic juggling that will leave all ages smiling.

Festival goers can also enjoy a BBQ and dedicated family zone, interactive activities with Top Banana Circus and Ragroof Players, experience the joy of Without Walls’s installation – and regular festival favourite - The Bewonderment Machine, and see new work from Street to the Point – plus more!

This year The Point’s main house plays host to Children are Stinky by Circus Trick Tease. Packed full of family-friendly stand-up comedy and awe-inspiring circus skills, this much-loved show will impress all ages. Tickets are £9 with £7 concessions, with a special family offer of four tickets for £26 or five for £30.

The Sorting Office studios will also be hosting its annual Summer Open Studios event during the Eastleigh Unwrapped weekend, inviting visitors into the repurposed postal office to browse and buy an array of bespoke handmade items. For the first time, Etsy Southampton will be co-hosting the event, giving more local craftspeople the opportunity to promote their business.
