AS LEICESTER rockers Kasabian know best, Friday night's Isle of Wight Festival finale was 'Fire'.

Finishing off a day of stunning weather and extraordinary performances, Britain's biggest band bossed the stage in a manner typical of the five-piece.

The group, renowned for hits 'LSF', 'Underdog', 'Club Foot' and 'Days Are Forgotten', have become giants of the UK festival scene and their show highlighted an action-packed day of homegrown talent.

Feeder dazzled on the festival's Big Top stage, complimenting counterparts Circa Waves - both building the atmosphere before drum and bass duo Chase & Status' DJ set dropped.

But, as has been the case with the Isle of Wight Festival for the last 50 years, talent from across the world also joined the fun.

Nile Rodgers, a living legend, and CHIC played a set so stunningly hit laden, every song made the viewer think - 'wow, they wrote that one TOO?'.

The sun bought out the fans in full force.

The perfect blend of young families, beer-drinking stags and hens, wise festival-goers who probably attended the first edition of this festival back in 1968.

Today promises to be another action packed day.

The fun starts early with bands kicking off from 11am.

Highlights include Stockport electropop outfit Blossoms, Jessie J, James Bay, Depeche Mode and of course everyone's favourite Mancunian rascal Liam Gallagher.

Weather-wise, it looks like a warm, sunny morning, with the cloud taking over the sky, but not the heat, from around midday.
