Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire at a Southampton home last night.
Two crews from Hightown and one from St Mary's were called to the blaze at a home in Kanes Hill at 7.30pm.
Two hoses and a jet were used to put out the fire which was brought under control at 8.50pm.
The fire completely destroyed the living room of the detached property.
Hightown tweeted after the incident that it highlighted the importance of closing doors as part of an escape plan when leaving the house and before bed. As well as, Making sure to have an escape plan for your home and working smoke alarms on every level.
