A Southampton woman's family card game has become a best seller on Amazon since its release in October.

Emma May's game Quirk was showcased for the second year at the UK Games Expo 2018, in Birmingham, in June.

The game has been so successful there has been demand for a follow-up and Emma has created Quirk! Legends, recently funded on Kickstarter.com.

The new game, which includes unicorns, dragons, superheroes and evil villains is far more popular at game conventions than the original, said Emma, 28

“I’m still surprised, every time a new family tells me they’ve not stopped playing the game since they’ve bought it.” said

Emma say the game is all about celebrating what makes us different.

"It’s been helping children and adults with social difficulties to gain confidence by expressing the character behaviours on the cards. It’s a great device to help build social skills, emotional literacy with others and hold eye contact whilst also being a fun family/party game," she said.

Her independent games company Emmerse Studios plans to release more titles featuring brand new characters in the future and hopes to continue to support the UK economy by printing the game in the UK for as long as possible. Cureewntly the games is printed by Hartgraphy in Amersham.

Emma took a degree in 3D CGI at Bournemouth University, and after graduating in 2012, worked as freelance artist.
