THE line-up for the first ever Eastleigh Pride has been revealed.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to Leigh Road Recreation Ground on September 8 to celebrate LGBT rights.

Now Eastleigh BID, the organisation responsible for the event, has revealed the acts that will be entertaining the crowds on the day.

Singer and pianist Henry Newbury, who also played at London Pride, and Southampton DJ Brad Chapman are among those who will perform.

They will be joined by drag Queen Misty Lee who performed in several Prides across the country including Reading, Swindon and Winchester and the Night Ride, an electric pop duo from London.

Also performing will be the Southampton band We Know John and the Solent Gay Men’s Chorus, a charity with the aim of bringing gay and bisexual men together to sing, perform and socialise.

Meanwhile, the Oxfordshire Drag Collective will travel to amuse residents with their performance and presenter and vocalist Daniel Ferrett will host the event.

Organisers have also confirmed that pubs across the town centre including the Chamberlayne Arms and the Good Companions will play host to parties once the event at Leigh Road Recreation Ground is finished.

Pride events already attracted thousands of revellers to Southampton and Winchester.

Eastleigh BID manager Teresa Swann said: “The line-up is great and the acts are really excited to be part of the first Pride in Eastleigh.

“I’m sure the community will love the line-up.”

Several charities will also have stalls in the town centre on the day.

“It’s a celebration of love. The event is to celebrate how far we have come but to recognise that we still have some way to go.

“We want the LGBTQ+ community to know they are welcome and accepted for whoever they are,” Ms Swann added.
