A TEENAGE girl was attacked in an alleyway by a stranger who pushed her up against a fence.

The 16-year-old was walking in the alleyway when she was approached from behind by a man she didn't know.

The man began walking alongside her and then pushed her up against a fence.

The victim fought back and was able to escape.

She did not sustain any injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place in Portchester at 9.30pm on Tuesday, July 10.

The incident happened in an alleyway between West Street and Priory Gardens.

The attacker has been described as white, 6ft tall, with short brown hair and a 'big build'.

He was described as having his face covered and wearing dark clothing.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw a man matching this description in the area at the time.
