EMERGENCY services have rushed to a field this afternoon after an aircraft crashed.
A pilot reported the crash to Sandown Airport, on the Isle of Wight around 4pm.
The downed Beagle Pup was spotted by the pilot as he left the airport. Another helicopter pilot, who had just arrived at Sandown, then offered to fly to the crash site, making it easier for emergency services to find them.
Two people have been injured in the crash – the pilot of the plane and his passenger.
Police have shut off Sandown Road between Hill Way and the Propeller Inn.
Airport owner Danial Subhani said: "The paramedics were talking to the man in the Beagle, so he was concious at least.
"Thanks to the quick actions of everyone here at the airport, the emergency services were there within ten minutes."
