NEVER mind the football hysteria, my heroes are the international and Thai divers, who crawled in darkness for two miles to rescue 13 young people from a very unpleasant death.

These youngsters had waited in complete blackness for a week, no one can know their terror or their uncertainty of rescue.

This shows the extent of courage of these divers who determined in spite of personal risk to save them.

I am always surprised at the undiscovered courage of humans when tragedy occurs.

l WE CAN only say it was amazing that the Thai boys football team and their coach have been rescued from their underground entombment, although sadly a Thai diver died.

It took such cooperation both with the Thai authorities and the international community offering help and support to get the team out safety.

We can feel proud it was British divers who found the team.

We are a great country; we have expertise in so many areas and when the call goes out for experience, this time cave divers, as it did with the Thai boys football team, our brave lads answered the call.
