ROYSTON Smith writes (Echo, July 11) why he will insist that leaving the EU is his choice. Was he not the man who did a deal with UKIP over swapping election campaigning information? Now look what has happened to UKIP, and is destroying the Conservatives?

I think any former ‘Remainer’ MPs from the Conservatives and Labour Parties should jump ship. Any ‘leavers’ resign, and let us have a General Election.

There is talk that Article 50, if not withdrawn, could be extended beyond March 2019.

No one voted for that!

My personal feeling is that Jeremy Corbyn and many other Labour people would lose their seats. Therefore he won’t be given the keys to No.10.

The Conservatives are going to lose a huge number of their seats.

Does anyone else have the suspicion that Trump and Putin are out to destroy the EU and they want Boris to run for the position of Prime Minster of the UK? After all, Boris Johnson's family, who went through a surname change to appear more British, is part Russian and part Turkish.

Trump’s family also changed their surname. Oddly enough, if I recall correctly, they were once German.

Mrs Trump is almost Russian.

Oh well, rather like our very own royal family, that is not particularly British.
