WINCHESTER City have given themselves a massive pre-season boost.
They steamrollered National League South outfit Hungerford Town 6-0 at the Simplyhealth City Ground yesterday with goals from Oli Bailey (2), Tyrell Mitford, Rob Carr (2) and Lamar Koroma.
Bailey put City ahead on 21 minutes when he lobbed the onrushing keeper.
He scored his second just three minutes later with a low header from a Danny King cross.
Former QPR and Team Solent man Mitford added the third with a tap-in from a Reece Rusher cross to make it 3-0 at half-time.
A lull in the goal scoring followed until eight minutes from time when Koroma rounded the keeper to add a fourth.
Carr then scored two well-taken goals late on to complete the scoring and secure an impressive victory for Craig Davis' side.
The Citizens will be splitting their squad for a busy week of friendlies ahead – at home to Salisbury on Tuesday, away to Brockenhurst on Wednesday and at Sholing on Friday. All are 7.45pm kick-offs.
