FIGHELDEAN pupils brought the African savanna to life for a West End-inspired show.
St Michael’s Primary School children took to the stage at Avon Valley College for Lion King Jr yesterday (Thursday) and Wednesday.
The children made and designed their own cardboard costumes.
Earlier in the year, the whole school went to the West End production of the Lion King which inspired them to create their own version.
The opportunity to use the stage and lights at Avon Valley College, enabled the children to put on a high quality and professional production.
A spokesman for the school said: "The children sang with confidence and enthusiasm, while the tale of Simba was told to the large appreciative audience. "Emotions were stirred and the hall was filled with laughter, cheers and boos, while the characters battled to secure the safety of the pride lands.
"The children did themselves proud, from the opening song, The circle of life to the end rendition of He lives in you.
"The audience were entertained and wowed by the talented singing, dancing and acting of all the children."
