THE A31 will see major overnight roadworks in the Ringwood area next week.
Highways England, as part of a year-long ongoing programme of road improvements, will be carrying out essential bridge maintenance at Poulner Hill, and Southampton Road, over the bridge, will be closed overnight from Monday for three nights.
Diversions will be marked, travelling via Ringwood interchange and Ringwood town.
Overnight closures are in place between 9pm and 6am, to avoid peak time demand.
Also starting on Monday the agency will be resurfacing the eastbound carriageway, which will be closed overnight between the Ashley Heath roundabout and Ringwood interchange until Friday, August 10.
A diversion will be in place via the A338, Castle Lane East, A35 and A336.
Another bridge is also being refurbished. Joints on the bridge which carries the B3073 Oakley Hill over the A31 at Wimborne Minster are to be replaced, and the bridge will be closed starting on Thursday, August 2, and lasting six nights.
