THESE are some of the amazing images taken for a rare and historic moment for Southampton and the Solent.

The famous Red Arrows performed their iconic smoke fly-over above the distinctive 'Three Queens' of Cunard.

The ships sat serenely in the Solent as the RAF acrobatic jets put on the display, which followed a performance from the Red Arrows at Cowes Week.

The trio of black, red and white ships had departed from Southampton earlier in the day.

It was the first time the 'Three Queens' had docked together in the city's port since 2016.

And for passengers, it was the first time in the company's 178 year history they would be able to watch a Red Arrows display on board in the Solent.

Simon Palethorpe, Senior Vice President Cunard said: “To see the Red Arrow Display team flying over our three Queens was a stunning sight.

"It is a rare occasion for all our three to be together, especially on such a beautiful evening and our guests were very lucky to be witness to such a special event.

"I am sure it will make their cruises very memorable."
