CHAMPAGNE and cake were the order of the day a New Forest holiday firm celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Shorefield Holidays’ directors and senior

managers visited all eight holiday parks in Hampshire and Dorset to celebrate with the parks’ members of staff and thank them for all their hard work.

The firm’s first park was opened by Dr Robert Pollock in Milford on Sea in 1958.

In the 60 years since, the business has continued to expand through acquisition, and today has eight parks.

Managing director Simon Pollock says: “We are so proud of what Shorefield Holidays has achieved over the last 60 years.

“We wanted to show our appreciation to all our staff for the dedication they have shown to our company, whose family values are as strong today as they were when my father opened our first park in 1958.

“Every member of staff is valued and encouraged to understand how they can make a difference to the success of our business.

“In the last 60 years, we have seen significant growth - both for holidays and holiday home ownership. With more and more post-Brexit vote Britons opting to holiday at home instead of travelling abroad, we are anticipating this growth will continue and lead to even more exciting developments for the future.

Shorefield Holidays’ success has been recognised with a number of awards, including a Brilliance in Business Award for its training and development programme, multiple David Bellamy Conservation Scheme Gold Awards, a Women in Business Award for Finance Director Sara Bertin, and the Solent 250 Management Team of the Year Award for 2018.
