OH HOW I sympathise with John Burke with his letter about sales calls (letters, August 11).
No, you are not the only one receiving these calls. We have received exactly the same ones and we have also pressed '9' to no avail.
I kept muttering that I must contact the Telephone Preference Service but I now see there is no progress to be had there. And yet this is exactly the sort of problem that I expected the TPS to sort out. I have tried ringing these callers back but the number is often not recognised and sometimes different. Looking back through my calls list I see I have had more calls from them than from anyone else.
So, what to do? Well I am now going to contact Mims Davies my local MP, but sadly with very little expectation of getting anywhere.
In the meantime the calls keep coming...
