FREE gin is being given away to customers in exchange for seasonal vegetable at local Southampton pub.
The Scholars Arms Greene King pub on Above Bar Street is giving away a free G&T to anyone who brings in a stick of rhubarb on August 18 and 19.
This weekend, all gin lovers need to do to claim their free beverage is visit the pub, and swap the rhubarb at the bar for a glass of Whitley Neill’s rhubarb and ginger gin and tonic.
The pub has said they will also accept tinned rhubarb as payment.
The unconventional offer has been launched to meet the rising demand for quirky flavour combinations and botanicals in gin.
Alan Carlisle, general manager at the Scholars Arms, said: “Everyone loves a gin and tonic on a British summer day, and there’s no denying a chilled glass that you haven’t had to pay for tastes even better!
“We look forward to inviting local gin lovers to enjoy a taste of rhubarb goodness on the house this weekend!”
The offer is only available while stocks last, and there is one drink permitted per person.
