THIS is the man police want to speak to after a vulnerable pensioner was targeted by fraudsters.

Police launched an investigation when the 75-year-old victim from Fareham was contacted over the phone by a man claiming to be from the bank.

He told her that she was going to be re-issued with a new card and a courier would come and collect her old cards along with her pin.

By 3pm on August 1, a man arrived at her house and convinced her to hand over her pin, before taking her cards from her.

The cards were subsequently used to withdraw £500 cash from the victim’s account.

Hampshire Constabulary has now released CCTV images of the man they want to speak to.

The force added: "Although anyone can fall for a scam, some people are more vulnerable. Often older or elderly people are targeted.

"If you are a carer, relative, friend or neighbour of someone who is vulnerable, you might be the only person who can stop them from being scammed. Talk to them and make sure they know what to look out for when it comes to scams.

"Remember – your bank will never call you and ask you for your bank details, personal, or financial information.

"You can make yourself aware of this type of scam and how to protect yourself against them by visiting the Action Fraud website: www.actionfraud.police.uk or by calling 0300 123 2040.

"If you or someone you know falls victim to this type of offence, please report it immediately to police on 101, or 999 if a crime is in progress."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44180290959, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
