LIGHTS, camera, action!

If you fancy putting yourself behind the camera to shoot your very own film, Southampton film making organisation City Eye could help turn the dream into reality.

People hoping to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood director Steven Spielberg are being invited to take up the remaining places on their Introduction to Digital Filmmaking course beginning next month.

The 16-week course, which will run every Tuesday evening and involves some weekend work, will cover all aspects of filmmaking including camera techniques, sound recording, lighting methods and directing actors.

It will culminate with the students working together to shoot their own film over two days which may be entered into film festivals nationwide if it is good enough.

City Eye was set up 20 years ago and receives funding from Southampton City Council and Screen South, the south's film and media agency.
