PARTS of Hampshire have been named among the country's major blackspots for deer accidents.
Each year more than 100 deer are killed on roads in the New Forest, while around 60 deer collisions are reported around the M27 between Southampton and Portsmouth.
Both areas have been named in the top 10 worst spots in the country for collisions involving deer, according to breakdown service Autonational Rescue.
The organisation is now welcoming the Highways Agency-backed Deer Vehicle Collisions project - the first study to centrally collect data on road accidents involving deer.
