ALL she came in for was a loaf of bread but by the time she left she had a ring on her finger and a devoted fiance on her arm.
Not what you would usually expect to pick up off the shelves at your local supermarket but for Carrie Squibb it was one special offer too good to resist.
Down on one knee and shaking nervously in the middle of Asda in Chandler's Ford, checkout assistant Gavin Horstead declared his love for Carrie and asked for her hand in marriage.
Although completely shocked by the whole occasion, the 18-year-old student wasted no time in accepting his proposal and sealed the deal with a kiss as shoppers and staff cheered.
Now the loved-up couple is looking forward to swapping the shopping aisle for the church aisle as they plan for a summer wedding.
Just ten months earlier it was Asda that brought the pair together when Carrie and her mum passed through 24-year-old Gavin's checkout.
Convinced he could put a smile on her face every day, Gavin asked her mum, Andrea Girvan, for Carrie's mobile number.
From his first text their relationship blossomed and when it came to deciding where to propose Gavin could think of no place better than the store where it all began.
An ecstatic Gavin, of Magpie Lane, Eastleigh, said: "I was really nervous this morning. I couldn't stop shaking and my legs were like jelly but I was pretty confident she would say yes.
"I'm so pleased she did. I love her so much. I thought proposing here was a great idea because this is where we met and that would make it extra special for us both."
Left speechless by the shock proposal, Carrie managed to utter a few words.
"I am really happy right now. When I woke up this morning I had no idea this would happen", she said.
"I knew he was planning something but didn't know what. I'm just in shock and cannot wait to start planning the big day."
Crying with tears of joy, proud mum Andrea was over the moon with her daughter's engagement.
She said: "I'm overjoyed. She is always happy when she's with Gavin so I think they will have a great life together."
It seems cupid is no stranger to the store in Bournemouth Road.
Lesley Mead, from Asda, said: "This is the third marriage proposal we've had in store and we have at least three more couples planning their weddings after meeting each other here.
"Asda is obviously the place to be if you want to find love."
