THE ambition of Fathers 4 Justice founder Matt O'Connor is to become London Mayor (Daily Echo, January 17).

I agree with him about the lack of fathers' access to children following divorce and separation, although I have never agreed with the superhero antics of his members.

I wonder how many remember when the London Eye had to be closed because a Fathers 4 Justice superhero chained himself to the top. This hardly endeared the cause Mr O'Connor campaigns for to the hearts of Londoners who were late for work due to roads being closed.

Following the incident, the current Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, launched a tirade against Fathers 4 Justice stating that the sort of fathers who closed the London Eye are the very sort of fathers who did not deserve to have access to their children.

Call me cynical, but perhaps Mr O'Connor is out for revenge against Mr Livingstone.

In all the articles I have ever read about Mr O'Connor, I cannot remember him ever saying that he had an interest in local government in any capacity, let alone the job of the mayor of one of the world's important capital cities.

Perhaps Mr O'Connor could tell us how he is qualified to control a city of ten million with such an apparent lack of local government experience?
